Liverpool Fans Are Worried Virgil van Dijk Has Leaked Two More Players Are Leaving

Virgil van Dijk has sent Liverpool fans into panic mode after appearing to hint that two more players could be heading towards the exit door. 

Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson have already announced they will be leaving the club this summer on free transfers, but the transfer business isn’t expected to end there for the Reds. It’s been a tumultuous season for Arne Slot, and another busy summer is expected on Merseyside.

While a lot of the focus will be on incoming signings, fears are growing over just how many crucial members of the first-team squad will still be at Anfield next term. Van Dijk’s recent Instagram post has only heightened those fears.

Van Dijk Worries Liverpool Fans With Salah and Robertson Farewell

Salah and Robertson both joined Liverpool in the summer of 2017, six months before Van Dijk. The three men have been through every emotion possible together over the past eight years, and were all vital parts of Jurgen Klopp’s success at the club.

The captain is one of the remaining stars of that era, and took to social media to bid farewell to his fellow icons. However, many fans are now worried that the post wasn’t just aimed at Robertson and Salah.

Standing next to the iconic trio are equally important Klopp favourites, Joe Gomez and Alisson Becker. While it could just be a picture including the longest-standing members of the squad, supporters believe both Gomez and Alisson could be included in the heartfelt goodbye, with the latter linked to Juventus.

Van Dijk captioned the post: “Thankful and grateful for our journey together! One more to go & send off you deserve,” which doesn’t clear matters up. One fan asked on social media: “Is Virg confirming Ali and Gomez leaving too?”

Another suggested Alisson and Gomez are equally deserving of a send-off if they are heading for the exit: “Has Virg just announced that these 4 are off at the end of the season????? Surely Gomez / Alisson both get a proper send-off for equally being part of the success?”

“Lol this confirms Ali and Joe. Yeah next year is gonna be long, especially with Slot still here,” one Liverpool fan responded.

A member of the Anfield faithful is worried at the direction the club is going in, saying: “Please tell me they’re all not going. Alisson and Gomez as well?? What is this club doing?”

It promises to be an emotional afternoon at Anfield on Sunday as at least two Kop favourites bid farewell to supporters after the Brentford game. That’s summed up by one fan, who wrote: “I’m a heartbroken man. I didn’t think I cared about them this much. I’ll forever be grateful.”
