Liverpool supporters have launched a petition calling for Arne Slot to be dismissed, and it has quickly gained massive traction online.

Just over a year after guiding Liverpool to a Premier League title, Slot is now under serious pressure, with sections of the fanbase openly demanding his removal in the coming weeks.

The Dutch manager has faced intense criticism throughout the season, largely due to the team’s sharp drop in form and results, despite the club investing around £446 million on seven new signings last summer. At present, Liverpool sit fourth in the Premier League, with their Champions League qualification still not secured and only two games remaining.

Slot has also overseen 19 defeats across all competitions this campaign — the highest total for the club in a single season this century — further fueling frustration among supporters.

Following Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea, an online petition titled “Arne Slot Out” went viral, urging fans to “make your voice heard” if they believe a managerial change is necessary. The campaign has surged rapidly, reaching around 869,520 signatures and edging close to one million, highlighting the growing unrest within the fanbase.

However, the figure should be treated cautiously, as there is no way to confirm how many signatures come from genuine Liverpool supporters rather than rival fans or others. It’s also worth noting that the petition is very easy to sign, requiring only a single click without any verification or personal details.

The movement has drawn comparisons to a similar online campaign involving Real Madrid fans, who recently called for Kylian Mbappé’s exit from the club.

Meanwhile, attention is already turning to possible replacements. Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso is widely seen as the leading candidate among fans and bookmakers if Slot is dismissed. Alonso, who recently left Real Madrid after a short managerial spell, is reportedly weighing his next move.

Liverpool are also said to be monitoring other managerial options, including Luis Enrique, Andoni Iraola, and Julian Nagelsmann, as speculation around Slot’s future continues to grow.
