Liverpool are set for a major squad overhaul this summer with as many as nine first-team players expected to leave the club.

Mohamed Salah’s farewell tour has been underwhelming, while Andy Robertson, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, Federico Chiesa, Calvin Ramsay, Rhys Williams, Joe Gomez and Alexis Mac Allister are all heading for the exit door.

The departures come after heavy investment last year as the Reds look to rebuild following a hugely disappointing campaign that has seen them eliminated from the Champions League and trail Arsenal by 18 points in the Premier League.

Several players have struggled for minutes under Arne Slot, with others out of contract or attracting strong external interest. Elliott’s loan at Aston Villa has been a failure, while Gomez and Mac Allister could generate funds for new arrivals.

The clearout signals the end of a transitional period at Anfield, with Liverpool determined to refresh the squad ahead of another push for major honours next season.
