‘What can I do?’: Jurgen Klopp refuses to blame referee after VAR denies Germany victory over Greece

The Germany national team briefly celebrated taking the lead against Greece in the 32nd minute of a match that ultimately ended in a 0-0 draw. Jonathan Burkardt scored following an assist from Derry Scherhant, but the VAR intervened.

Referee Clement Turpin disallowed the goal due to a handball by Tom Bischof.
Head coach Jurgen Klopp initially did not expect a review: “We had already celebrated extensively. We didn’t think anything could be wrong.”

After the match, the national team manager downplayed the incident: “That’s how it was decided. What can I do? I don’t even know for sure if it was a clear error. I was still far away, we ran 40 more meters, it was in midfield. I have no idea. He decided it that way.”

Even afterward, Klopp remained calm: “There’s no point in arguing about it either. If there is any rule that says the goal should have stood, let me know. Then maybe I’ll get a little more angry. For now, it is what it is.”
