Liverpool have decided to jo….

Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City are keeping a close eye on Atletico Madrid star Marcos Llorente as they assess potential options for 2027.

According to TEAMtalk, the three Premier League clubs are monitoring the 31-year-old Spaniard, whose current Atletico Madrid contract is set to expire in the summer of 2027.

Liverpool and Chelsea are particularly interested in Llorente because of his versatility, with both clubs assessing options that could strengthen their squads at right-back and in central midfield. His ability to comfortably operate in multiple positions is reportedly one of the main reasons he has attracted interest.

Llorente joined Atletico Madrid from Real Madrid in 2019 for around £30 million and has since developed into one of the club’s most experienced and versatile players, making more than 300 appearances for Diego Simeone’s side.

Manchester City are also monitoring the situation, with Llorente’s experience and ability to provide cover in different positions making him an attractive option.

However, Atletico Madrid are not simply preparing for his departure. The Spanish club are already in discussions with Llorente over a new contract, and TEAMtalk reports that there is strong confidence within Atletico that an agreement can eventually be reached.

The player’s age is reportedly not considered a major obstacle by the clubs monitoring him. Llorente turns 32 in January, but his experience at the highest level and tactical flexibility could make him an appealing short-term option.

For now, there is no indication that a transfer has been agreed or that negotiations with any Premier League club are advanced. The immediate focus remains on whether Atletico can convince Llorente to extend his stay in Madrid.

With Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City all watching his situation, Llorente’s contract negotiations could become an interesting storyline ahead of the 2027 transfer window.
