Liverpool supporters have been given a fresh update on young Reds fan Isaac Kearney, whose journey has touched fans around the world.
Isaac’s mum, Melissa, recently shared an emotional photo showing her son resting after what appears to have been a particularly difficult medical appointment. In the post, she explained that the family had been preparing Isaac for the appointment since the previous week, but admitted that it remains extremely challenging for him — and for the entire family.
“It doesn’t matter how much we prepare him for appointments… it just never gets easier. Not just for Isaac but it literally affects the whole of our family.”
The photo showed Isaac lying on a bed with medical monitoring equipment attached to him. His mum later added: “Lots & lots of tears but we got there 🥺.”
She also described the emotional toll the day had taken, writing: “This kid has broken mamma today! But I am so proud of him soldiering through ❤️.”
Isaac’s remarkable journey
Isaac, who has Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome, has become widely known among Liverpool supporters through videos of him singing Reds songs and showing his love for the club. His story has previously brought him special moments with Liverpool players, including Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.
In 2024, Liverpool players surprised Isaac at his school, while he later walked onto the pitch as a mascot alongside Van Dijk. His mother previously explained that Isaac had faced numerous medical challenges and operations throughout his childhood.
More recently, Isaac was reunited with Salah in Turkey after travelling with his family to meet the Egyptian star, who now plays for Trabzonspor.
Isaac also underwent surgery in January 2026, highlighting the continuing medical challenges he and his family have had to navigate.
The latest post does not specify exactly what procedure or appointment Isaac underwent, so it would be premature to claim that he has suffered a new serious condition or complication.
For now, his mum’s message makes clear that the appointment was emotionally exhausting, but that Isaac got through it.
Liverpool supporters will no doubt continue to send their love and encouragement to the young Kopite and his family.
