Liverpool full-back Andy Robertson has caught the attention of Virgil van Dijk with his latest social media post, ahead of an expected incoming at Anfield.
The Scotland international started 29 games in the Premier League last season, as Arne Slot’s side wrapped up the title with four games to go.
Back in 2017, the defender made the switch to Merseyside from Hull City for £8million, and has since won two Premier League titles and a Champions League at the club.
However, next season Robertson will be without his full-back partner Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has made a move to Real Madrid, after running down his contract with the Reds.
Robertson sends ‘see you soon’ message
After the club campaign came to a close, attention turned to the international scene, with Robertson joining up with the Scottish national team for two friendlies.
The left-back played the full 90 minutes as Steve Clarke’s side were beaten 3-1 by Iceland, before then featuring for just under an hour as the Tartan Army demolished Liechtenstein 4-0.
With his season finally at an end, Robertson took to social media to send a message to both Liverpool and Scotland fans.

On Instagram, the 31-year-old shared two photos from international duty, with the caption: “Switch off time. See you soon.”
Club teammate Van Dijk liked the post, to show his support and appreciation.

There is no doubt that Robertson has been a fantastic servant for the Reds over the last eight years, but he isn’t getting any younger, and it seems as if the club are already preparing for life without the full-back.
Liverpool are close to completing the signing of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, with it costing the Reds a reported £45m to secure the deal.
Kerkez was one of the standout players in Andoni Iraola’s side last season, starting every single Premier League game, while also picking up six assists.
Their business doesn’t stop there either, as Liverpool are expected to confirm the signing of Florian Wirtz in the coming days.
Wirtz rejected Bayern Munich in favour of joining Slot’s side, with Manchester City dropping out of the race due to concerns around the cost of the midfielder.
