Sofia Luna’s latest cabaret creation taps into the shadowy allure of the occult, classic rock mythology, and the timeless mystique of Led Zeppelin. As one of Miami’s most celebrated burlesque artists and the founder of Moon River Cabaret, Luna wanted her show, The House of Burlesquine, to break away from traditional burlesque and dive deeper into something darker, more theatrical, and immersive.
A devoted Led Zeppelin fan, Luna envisioned an experience that would be equal parts seductive, surreal, and steeped in storytelling — a rock ‘n’ roll fever dream with a supernatural twist. Drawing on eerie legends, conspiracy theories surrounding the band, and tales of the occult, Luna first launched the show on Friday, October 13, 2023 — a date chosen as much for its spooky symbolism as for its availability. Now, the show is returning for its second performance, once again on the ominous Friday the 13th.
“It took me two years to bring this vision to life,” Luna says. “I wanted something sexy, spooky, and fun — a Halloween cabaret with theatrical flair. When the venue told me Friday the 13th was the only date open, it felt fated.”
The inspiration for the show came from late-night wine-fueled sessions with her best friend, bingeing bizarre YouTube videos about rock legends and occult lore. “The stuff about Led Zeppelin’s connection to the occult really stuck with me. Their music and the myths around them were the perfect foundation.”
The plot, loosely inspired by Faustian folklore, follows three Miami burlesque performers who travel to Scotland’s eerie Boleskine House — a real mansion linked to black magic and once owned by both Aleister Crowley and Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page. In the show, the women seek a deal with the Devil but are drawn into a bizarre, otherworldly spiral filled with seduction, spirits, and classic rock energy
