Manchester United have formally entered the growing race to sign French striker Hugo Ekitike, as the summer transfer window heats up, according to Sky Sport reporter Florian Plettenberg.
The Premier League giants have made direct contact with Eintracht Frankfurt within the past 48 hours to express their serious interest in the 22-year-old forward.
United have also reportedly gathered all the necessary details about Ekitike’s availability, financial demands, and Frankfurt’s stance.
The Red Devils’ interest comes as no surprise, given the club’s need for a versatile striker to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Both clubs have been tracking Ekitike for several months, impressed by his resurgence in the Bundesliga, where he has shown maturity and an eye for goal.
However, the path to securing Ekitike’s signature won’t be straightforward. Eintracht Frankfurt have placed a hefty €100 million price tag on the Frenchman.
