Lewis Hamilton Voices Concern Over Formula 1’s New Direction
Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has publicly expressed his unease about the future of Formula 1, stating that he believes the sport is steering off course with its proposed rule changes. As the sport prepares for a new set of technical regulations, Hamilton is growing increasingly vocal about the potential negative impact these modifications could have on the integrity and appeal of F1.
The new rules, expected to come into effect in 2026, aim to make the sport more sustainable and cost-effective, with a strong focus on hybrid technology and aerodynamics. However, Hamilton isn’t convinced these adjustments will improve the racing experience for fans or drivers.
“I feel like we’re going in the wrong direction,” Hamilton said in a recent interview. “These changes seem to be more about ticking boxes than actually enhancing the competition on track.”

“There’s a balance to be struck between innovation and entertainment,” he added. “Right now, I don’t think we’re striking that balance very well.”
