Brooklyn Beckham played a key role in supporting his mother, Victoria Beckham, during a rocky period in her marriage to David Beckham, according to sources. Before meeting his now-wife Nicola Peltz, Brooklyn was said to be a major source of strength for Victoria and took on the role of “man of the house.”
At 26, Brooklyn’s bond with his mother was once incredibly close. Insiders say Victoria, now 51, leaned heavily on him emotionally during difficult times in her relationship with David. In the Daily Mail’s Beckham Breakdown: Inside the Family Feud series on YouTube, journalist Katie Hind shared:
“Victoria depended on Brooklyn. With David away frequently and their marriage reportedly under strain, Brooklyn stepped up and filled that father-figure role at home. He was a real support system for her.”
The dynamics in the family shifted, however, after Brooklyn met Nicola Peltz in 2019 at a Halloween party hosted by Leonardo DiCaprio. The couple tied the knot three years later, and since then, the once-tight bond between Brooklyn and Victoria appears to have changed.
Signs of tension became more public last month when Brooklyn and Nicola were absent from David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebration—an event that underscored the growing family rift. This was a stark contrast to the closeness between Brooklyn and Victoria during his youth. At just 14, he accompanied her to the 2013 Glamour Awards, highlighting their inseparable relationship at the time.
The latest episode of the Daily Mail’s entertainment series delves into the evolution of their relationship and the increasing strain within the Beckham family. After the birthday fallout, Brooklyn posted a heartfelt message to Nicola on Instagram, writing:
“I always choose you baby, you’re the most amazing person in the world. Me and you forever, baby.”
Shortly after, his younger brother Cruz, 20, appeared to respond with his own Instagram message, this time aimed at showing solidarity with their parents. He wrote:
“I love my family. I love you guys more than anything. Mum and dad, you gave us life and always took care of us—so lucky to have you.”
Brooklyn and Nicola also reportedly attended a dinner in Montecito, California, where they met Prince Harry. The Duke of Sussex is said to have offered them his “full support” amid the family tensions. This encounter reportedly did not sit well with David, who was allegedly furious, especially given the Beckhams’ past disagreements with Harry and Meghan Markle.
