Bayer Leverkusen set to demand around €50 million to sell Victor Boniface amid Chelsea links
Chelsea is reportedly interested in signing a 24-year-old Bundesliga striker, but the price tag is steep. According to recent reports, Chelsea may need to pay up to £70 million to secure the services of Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface.¹ ²
Boniface has been impressive in his two seasons with Leverkusen, scoring 21 goals and providing 9 assists in 34 appearances during the 2023-24 season. This season, he has 10 goals and 1 assist in 19 games.
However, it’s worth noting that Chelsea was previously told to pay €85 million to sign Viktor Gyokeres, another talented striker.³ Gyokeres has been linked with several top clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester United.
Chelsea’s interest in signing a new striker is understandable, given the team’s struggles in front of goal this season. The Blues have been linked with several top strikers, including Robert Lewandowski, who has been impressive for Borussia Dortmund.⁴
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will be willing to pay the high price tag for Boniface or Gyokeres. However, one thing is certain – the Blues need to strengthen their attacking options if they want to compete with the top teams in the Premier League.
In other news, Chelsea reportedly organized a private medical for RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku ahead of a possible January move.⁵ Nkunku has been impressive for Leipzig, scoring 41 goals since the start of the 2021-22 season. However, it’s unclear whether Chelsea will be able to secure his services.
