New Alexander Isak transfer bombshell that nobody saw coming drops and it changes everything

Liverpool have been handed a MASSIVE boost in their pursuit of Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.

Just weeks after winning the Premier League title in his first season as Liverpool manager, Arne Slot has not taken his foot of the gas as he’s been busy securing massive signings for his squad next season.

Right-back Jeremie Frimpong was Liverpool’s first signing, replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold, with former Bayer Leverkusen teammates Florian Wirtz joining in a Premier League record deal days later.

However, it appears that Liverpool will not stop there, as a new report has revealed that they could be ready to massively step up their pursuit of top transfer target Isak

.

Ahead of the transfer window opening earlier this month, it was well reported that Liverpool would be searching for a new striker to replace Darwin Nunez, who is expected to leave the club this summer.

Despite links to the likes of Joao Pedro, Hugo Ekitike and Julian Alvarez, Newcastle superstar Isak is evidently Liverpool’s dream signing, despite the fact that a deal is believed to be both difficult and expensive.

But a new report from The Times has revealed that this is not the case and, in fact, Liverpool remain well clear of breaching the Premier League regulations and have the funds to test Newcastle’s resolve.

And Newcastle are well aware of this, as the report claims that they are seriously concerned that Liverpool could submit an offer for their star striker as early as the beginning of July.

In anticipation of this, the Magpies are reportedly willing to begin talks for a new contract that would see him earn beyond the £120,000 weekly salary included in his current deal and make him the biggest earner at the club.

As it stands, the likes of Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon top the list of Newcastle United’s earners, with the Brazilian midfielder taking home £160,000 per week.

However, any offer from the Magpies would not be able to rival the salary that Liverpool could give the Swedish international, with Newcastle still constrained by PSR.
