Every Liverpool Player That Has ‘Liked’ Mo Salah’s Post Exposing Arne Slot

Mohamed Salah released an extraordinary statement on Saturday afternoon following Liverpool’s defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League.

The Reds were beaten 4-2 at Villa Park, meaning they may now need to beat Brentford on the final day of the season to ensure Champions League qualification for next season.

It’s no secret that Salah and Arne Slot have had a fractured relationship this season. The Egyptian called out his manager after he was an unused substitute against Leeds United in December.

He appeared to fire another dig at Slot in a strongly-worded statement on Saturday. He wrote on Instagram: “I have witnessed this club go from doubters to believers, and from believers to champions. It took hard work and I always did everything I could to help the club get there. Nothing makes me prouder than that.

“Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve. I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies. That is the football I know how to play and that is the identity that needs to be recovered and kept for good. It cannot be negotiable and everyone that joins this club should adapt to it. 

“Winning some games here and there is not what Liverpool should be about. All teams win games. Liverpool will always be a club that means a great deal to me and to my family. I want to see it succeed for long after I have moved on. As I’ve always said, qualifying to next season’s Champions League is the bare minimum and I will do everything I can to make that happen.”

Many of Salah’s teammates appear to share his feelings. The 33-year-old’s post has attracted nearly one million ‘likes’ on Instagram, including from some of Liverpool’s players.

Among those that have ‘liked’ Salah’s post are Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch, Ibrahima Konate, Andy Robertson and Wataru Endo.

Even five of Slot’s big money signings last summer have approved of Salah’s post: Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Firmpong, Giovanni Leoni and Milos Kerkez.

Curtis Jones also liked the post, before summarising his feelings in a separate post. He wrote: “Thank you for your continued support in a disappointing season. It’s way off the standards expected at this football club.”
