Official: Liverpool’s lineup to face Man United is out

Liverpool have officially confirmed their starting lineup for today’s massive Premier League clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford, with Arne Slot forced into key decisions due to injuries and late fitness concerns.

Coming into one of the biggest matches of the season, Liverpool were already dealing with major absences, including Mohamed Salah, Hugo Ekitike, Wataru Endo, Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni, while Alisson Becker’s fitness remained uncertain right up until the final team announcement.

The biggest call comes in goal, where Freddie Woodman starts once again after Alisson was not deemed ready to return. With Giorgi Mamardashvili also unavailable, Woodman keeps his place for one of Liverpool’s toughest away fixtures of the campaign.

Defensively, Slot has gone with a familiar core despite the injuries, trusting Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate in central defence. At full-back, Curtis Jones continues in the right-back role, while Andy Robertson starts on the left.

In midfield, Ryan Gravenberch returns to the lineup alongside Alexis Mac Allister, providing Liverpool with energy, control and physical presence in the center of the pitch.

Further forward, Florian Wirtz keeps his central creative role, with Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo offering movement and support around the frontline.

One of the biggest talking points before kickoff was Alexander Isak’s fitness, but the striker has been included from the start despite recent concerns, giving Liverpool a major boost in attack.

With Salah unavailable, much of the attacking burden will now fall on Isak, Wirtz and Szoboszlai to break down Manchester United’s defense. The bench still offers options, including Curtis Jones, Federico Chiesa and Rio Ngumoha, giving Slot potential game-changing alternatives if needed later in the match.
