Jacquet – 9, Barcola – 5: rating Liverpool players in Fulham draw

Jeremy Jacquet – 9

A superb display in the heart of Liverpool’s defence for the young Frenchman. He was extremely agile with his movement and tracking the runs of opposition forwards, getting in the right places perfectly to win his defensive duels. He won eight duels, made fivedefensive contributions and also crucially made a huge goal-line block to deny Fulham a goal in the first half. Really coming into his own in the centre-back role for Liverpool.

Alisson – 8

Alisson was probably tested much more strongly than what he would’ve expected, but he didn’t let his concentration levels fall off at all. The Brazilian goalkeeper made three saves, showcasing excellent reflexes to deny some big chances for the Cottagers. He was also superb with his cross-claiming heroics to help his side stay on top of the game.

Virgil van Dijk – 7.5

The Liverpool skipper was able to prove that he’s still got it in him to play multiple matches in a week with a sturdy display against Fulham. He was really proactive in the backline, making 10 defensive contributions and even nailing four interceptions to ruin Fulham’s moves. Held together a really solid defensive line with Jacquet & co.
Florian Wirtz – 6.5

The German midfielder might not have had the best of days in terms of his final product, but his effort couldn’t be doubted. He worked extremely hard, covering well over 11 km’s on the pitch and working hard with nine defensive contributions. Wirtz actually did create quite a few nice chances but none of them were converted, as his hunt for a goal keeps on going.
Bradley Barcola – 5

In his first Premier League start for Liverpool, Barcola was unable to bring that spark to the Reds’ frontline. He made a few nice runs and was able to create a chance, but his final product was awry. Wasted a big chance late in the firsh half, and just couldn’t influence the game that well with his dribbles or shots to test the goalkeeper.

Victor Munoz – 4.5

Just like Barcola, Munoz also had a bit of a stiff outing. He showed promise with a few forward runs, but his decision-making just wasn’t good enough. Had a shot go astray in the first half and wasn’t able to create all that much through the right-wing, causing him to be subbed at the hour-mark.

Kostas Tsimikas – 4

Tsimikas was just not able to jusify himself as a better left-back threat than Milos Kerkez. He had a scrappy half, not being able to create anything from set-pieces or support Barcola enough on that left-wing. Lost four of his seven duels and was taken off at half-time after a disappointing display.
