Liverpool went into the October (2025) international break in an underwhelming manner, having lost their last three straight games.
That includes two losses in-a-row in the Premier League, causing the defending champions to lose their grip on the top spot in the table.
Arne Slot is under pressure to turn things around with the Reds, and some feel that he is not properly using new signing Milos Kerkez in his system.
One Liverpool fan on Reddit – ZealousIdeal-Yam-312 – has argued that Slot’s system is the reason for why Kerkez is being misused and underperforming at Anfield.
The fan stated: “Kerkez is so misused by Slot and this system. I just saw Kerkez’s entire game vs Armenia for Hungary recently and it made me realize just how badly he is being used in our current system as the third CB.
“We bought probably the best attacking full back in the league last year and our system turned him into a defensive player and is just not giving him the freedom to bomb forward down the left.
“I watched Arsenal at home vs Bournemouth and it was one of Kerkez best performance last season including vs Newcastle, he was one of the most dangerous players on the pitch from lb and reminded me so much of prime Robbo.
“The system we are playing right now just doesn’t suit the personnel we have and it’s hurting us. I hope slot does realize after watching the international break just how good this Hungarian lad is and lets him go forward. Also when he does go forward Gakpo doesn’t use him a lot tbf.”
