Florian Wirtz’s performance for Liverpool in their 3-0 defeat to Man City infuriated club legend Jamie Carragher after the 2026/27 Premier League clash.
Speaking about the German midfielder’s impact and his future in the starting XI, he told Sky Sports: “Liverpool have paid top dollar, and they’re getting nowhere near what they should be getting.”
“Koumas and Munoz were better than the £100 million players. Now, that can’t be right; it’s just not right.”
“There’s no way Florian Wirtz should be playing ahead of Gravenberch. Different positions, I get that. What Florian Wirtz is giving Liverpool right now is nowhere near enough.”
