Antoine Semenyo has been told Liverpool is the perfect club for him as he continues to be linked with a move away from Bournemouth. Semenyo, who joined the Cherries from Bristol City for £10million in January 2023, has become one of the Premier League’s hottest properties.
As well as Liverpool, the attacker has also been linked with Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. The 25-year-old also has a £65million release clause in his Bournemouth contract, which becomes active next month.
Semenyo can play on the left or right wing and links with Arne Slot’s side further increased this weekend when it emerged that Alexander Isak is set for a spell on the side-lines.
Liverpool fear that Isak has fractured his left leg and are waiting for the results of MRI scans before confirming the extent of the injury. And former Premier Leaguemidfielder Jermaine Jenas believes Semenyo would be perfect for Liverpooland his arrival would fill the void left by Luis Diaz.
“Semenyo would be perfect for Liverpool. More than replacing a potential Salah departure, I think it’s addressing Luis Diaz’s exit,” he told 10bet.
“I think Cody Gakpo is a little bit predictable at times and I think someone with a little bit more of a dynamic edge to them down that left-hand side would be good.
“I also think Spurs would be another good option for Semenyo. But then, who else have you got? He’s not going to go to Chelsea, he’s not going to go to Manchester City.

“So yeah, I think Liverpool and Spurs are probably the two best options, you know, for him to be looking at.”
But while Semenyo has been linked with a switch to Anfield, Mohamed Salah has been the subject of speculation linking him with a move away from Liverpool. Salah has apologised to his Liverpool team-mates after the outburst which has cast doubt over his future following the draw with Leeds United.
However, Saudi Pro League clubs are keen to secure the services of the Egypt international, and Jenas says that Liverpool should replace Salah with Jarrod Bowen.
He said: “I mean Liverpool, the one I think that stands out for me is Jarrod Bowen – to go there in place of Salah. I think that’s a more natural fit.
“I still can’t believe they didn’t go and get [Michael] Olise when he was available at [Crystal] Palace. But you know they obviously felt with Salah they were going to get at least two, three more years out of him, which doesn’t look like it’s going to be the case.”
