Hamilton Uses Criticism as Motivation in New Ferrari Chapter
Lewis Hamilton has shared how he deals with criticism, explaining that he turns negative comments into motivation as he continues his journey in Formula 1.
Before the 2025 season even began, Hamilton made headlines by announcing his big move to Ferrari. His decision sparked many reactions from fans and experts in motorsport. However, the seven-time world champion insists that criticism has always pushed him to work harder.
“In our sport, everyone gets criticized,” Hamilton said during pre-season testing in Bahrain. “I think I have probably received more than most in my career. But I just focus on my work. I know I am improving every day, and I accept that I will make mistakes because I am human.”
He added, “What I’m proud of is my determination, my focus, and my ability to admit when I am wrong. I know that I will always try to be better the next day. The negative comments don’t bother me – I use them as fuel to push myself further.”
Hamilton’s Experience at Ferrari
Since officially joining Ferrari in January, Hamilton has been adjusting to his new team. When asked if the reality of being at Ferrari matches his expectations, he confirmed that it has.
“It definitely has,” he said. “From the outside, Ferrari is already special, but being inside is an even more incredible experience.”
He continued, “Talking to the whole team, walking around the factory, and seeing how passionate and excited everyone is – it’s amazing. Many of these people have dreamed of working at Ferrari since they were young, and you can see how much pride they take in their work.”
Feeling the Passion of the Tifosi
Hamilton has also experienced the passion of Ferrari’s famous fanbase, the Tifosi.
“I saw it before when watching Charles [Leclerc], Carlos [Sainz], and Sebastian [Vettel], but now, being on the receiving end of their support, it’s a whole new experience,” he said.
Hamilton’s journey with Ferrari has only just begun, but he is ready to take on the challenge and prove himself in his new team.
