“We didn’t get the result we wanted today,” Curry began. “Credit to our opponent. They executed well, and we just didn’t make enough plays down the stretch. But I couldn’t be prouder of how hard our team has worked all year long.”
Curry highlighted the physicality of the game and the difficulty of competing in the SEC, a conference known for its elite talent and competitiveness. “Every possession matters in this league,” she said. “You can’t take a single play off, and tonight, there were just a few too many moments where we lost focus or didn’t execute.”
Senior guard Aaliyah Nye also shared her thoughts, acknowledging the emotional weight of the loss. “It hurts, especially knowing how much we’ve put into this season,” Nye said. “But I’m proud of our fight. We never gave up, and we battled until the end.”
Another standout player, Sarah Ashlee Barker, pointed to the team’s strong chemistry and commitment as a foundation for their success this year, despite the early tournament exit. “This group is special,” Barker said. “We’ve been through a lot of ups and downs, but we stuck together.
