There are already quite a few names being linked with the Liverpool job.

It is a very uncertain time right now for the Reds as their run of form has left a lot to be desired, with no one too sure what the future holds.

Arne Slot’s job is certainly under a little bit of pressure, and with lots of managers being linked with the job, the Liverpool hierarchy must at least have some thoughts in the back of their minds about a replacement.

One name who has been linked is Germany’s Julian Nagelsmann, with the 38-year-old one of the brightest young coaches with a wealth of experience.

Whether he will be the next Liverpool manager, though, has now been revealed, with there a very clear answer.

Julian Nagelsmann being linked with Liverpool is ‘nonsense’

Nagelsmann made a real name for himself in the Bundesliga and established himself into one of the best up-and-coming coaches at the time, which is why someone like Bayern Munich took a punt on him.

Things did not go exactly to plan but he did enough to get the job as the German national team manager, which is where he has been for the past two years.

His name is still coming up despite this, though, but journalist Dominic King has stated that no such move will happen.

“Talk about Julian Nagelsmann being a contender to replace Slot: nonsense,” he posted on his X account.

“He wasn’t a candidate to replace Klopp and Liverpool aren’t looking to change their head coach.”

Some Reds fans would be fairly excited if he did get the job due to his style of football and ability to get the best out of Florian Wirtz, but this rumour looks like it ends here.

Xabi Alonso and Jurgen Klopp are the favourites

Although there are so many names being linked, which might be a little unfair on Slot given he is still firmly in the job, there are two that stand out above the rest.

Jurgen Klopp seems to be the main one, with a reunion something fans will love as it will bring everyone closer together again.

Whether he would leave his role with Red Bull is another thing, though, which is why Xabi Alonso is also being linked.

There is said to be a little bit of tension between the Spaniard and some of his Real Madrid players at the moment, and this could see him depart, although him becoming the next Liverpool manager depends on so many factors.
