Jurgen Klopp finally confirms his new job — no, it’s not management

Jurgen Klopp has revealed he will be part of Magenta TV’s punditry team for the 2026 World Cup but only after sending fans into a frenzy by hinting at “a return to the touchline.”

The former Liverpool boss, who has not managed since leaving Anfield in 2024 and now works as Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer, delivered the announcement in a playful social media clip.

Klopp said: “Many of you have always known better. But I truly couldn’t envision it for myself.

“Going back to the sideline? I don’t miss anything. This is what I always thought. But now it is tingling again.

“Grass underneath my feet. The heated atmosphere in the stadium. And I want to be really close again.

“Oh? No, not as a manager. I am becoming a pundit for Magenta TV at the FIFA World Cup 2026.”
The 58-year-old will now analyse Germany’s campaign in the US, Canada and Mexico, marking his first on-screen football role since stepping away from management.
