‘Glad it’s not me anymore’: Trent Alexander-Arnold takes cheeky dig at Liverpool after Real Madrid win

Trent Alexander-Arnold delivered an impressive performance in Real Madrid’s 3-0 win over RB Salzburg at the Club World Cup, showing exactly why Los Blancos brought him in from Liverpool this summer.
Composed on the ball and confident on the right flank, Trent looked fully settled in Madrid colours.

But in the post-match interview, he couldn’t help but take a cheeky trip down memory lane at Liverpool’s expense.

Vinicius Jr was one of the best performers for Madrid, scoring and assisting a goal apiece. Of course, he’s no stranger to Liverpool, having played in the Champions League.

“Vini Jr has given me a lot of difficult games in the past,” he laughed.

“It’s good that it’s now happening to other people rather than me.”
Was it really necessary to bring up being torched by Vinicius during a Champions League night that happened years ago?

Trent might be thriving in Spain now, but Reds supporters will be feeling that one just a little.
