Right before the end of the half, the French defender was involved in a notable moment with Brian Brobbey inside his own penalty box.
At one point, both Konate and Brobbey went down inside the box after being involved in a duel.

The VAR had a look at the incident for a potential penalty for the hosts, before clearing it very soon.

The reason why Sunderland didn’t get a penalty is that Brobbey tried an interesting simulation tactic to get it.

He could be seen hanging onto Konate and almost wrestling with the Liverpool defender in an attempt to feign a challenge to get a penalty.
The referees, however, saw through his facade and didn’t give any penalty to the hosts.
