A Liverpool loanee could be up for grabs once more in January.
James McConnell is currently on loan at Ajax, but he’s made just seven appearances in total for the Dutch giants.
Of those seven, only two have been starts, including one in the Champions League against Chelsea.
With the 21-year-old struggling for game time at Ajax, WalesOnline has reported McConnell’s loan spell will be cut short.
Should that eventuate, there will be no shortage of Championship clubs interested in McConnell.
One of those clubs could be Swansea City, who enquired about McConnell’s availability in the summer before he joined Ajax.
The WalesOnline report adds Swansea have played down the likelihood of moving for a midfielder in January, although McConnell still has admirers at the club.
