Liverpool have made an offer to sign Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic in January after Alexander Isak’s leg injury, according to Fichajes.
The Reds were dealt a major blow during their 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur when Isak suffered a broken lower leg in the process of scoring the opening goal, and is now set to miss the vast majority of the remainder of the season.
That has sparked Arne Slot’s side into action in the transfer market once more according to reports in Spain, and the club have now tabled an offer to bring in a replacement ahead of the new year.

Vlahovic, who earns £377,000-a-week in Turin before bonuses, is into the final year of his contract with the Italian giants, and has been linked with a move away for several windows as they look to get his wages off the books.
Now Liverpool have offered him a chance to make the move, and head to the Premier League, by tabling a €20m offer (£17.4m) to sign the Serbian international. Juventus are very open to selling him and have no intention of renewing his contract, while the report states that Liverpool are also open to his wage demands of over €12m net per season (£400,000-a-week).
The player is very open to a move to the Premier League, as he is keen on finding a new challenge and change of scenery. It’s unclear what Juventus’ asking price for the striker is at this stage, but their dilemma of having to accept a lower fee or lose the player for nothing in the summer means they are seriously considering it.
It’s believed that the player is as close as he has ever been to leaving, and Liverpool are ready to finally make his Premier League dream come true.
Is Vlahovic Necessary at Anfield?
While Isak is likely to miss the majority of the Premier League season now, it seems highly unlikely that another big-money signing is needed at this stage as a stop-gap replacement.
Hugo Ekitike has shown that he is more than good enough to lead the line at Anfield for the season, while the likes of Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah and Federico Chiesa are all capable of playing centrally too.
Instead of signing another number nine on big wages who will want to play regularly, Liverpool would be better off addressing their problem winger positions and putting their faith into Ekitike after his form from the start of the campaign.
Vlahovic’s performances in recent years have hardly ripped up any trees, and while the transfer fee is low, the wages would be astronomical and it looks like a major mistake waiting to happen.
