The British tabloid The Sun reported on the 2nd, “A player who played for the England national team in the 2010s is accused of attempting to rape his ex-girlfriend. He was arrested by police while fleeing from London Stansted Airport. He tried to flee abroad and was caught by police.”

The identity of the player has not been revealed. However, he is a former England international who was active in the 2010s and is now a retired Premier League player. Essex Police confirmed that they were seeking the player on suspicion of attempted rape of his ex-girlfriend and arrested him.
