Former Manchester City striker Sergio Agüero has come to the defence of Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, who has faced increased scrutiny after an uncharacteristically quiet start to the season.
Speaking in an interview with Stake, Agüero urged supporters and pundits not to underestimate the Egyptian’s long-term quality, insisting that temporary dips in form should never overshadow what he has consistently delivered for club and country.
“Never doubt great strikers,” Agüero said. “Salah has excellent statistics, and I am sure he will find his rhythm.”
Salah, who has been Liverpool’s talisman since his arrival at Anfield in 2017, has struggled to reach his usual goal-scoring heights in the early weeks of the campaign. “I think he has been affected by Liverpool’s poor start to the season, but one player cannot do everything on his own,” the Argentine added.

Agüero echoed this sentiment, reinforcing his belief that elite players ultimately rise above difficult stretches.
