A former Premier League player who has been one of the Bundesliga’s standout performers this season has been identified as a ‘future dream target’ by Liverpool, according to reports.
It was a busy summer for the reigning Premier League champions, who forked out £446 million on the additions of Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Giovanni Leoni, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerke and Alexander Isak.
To put their transfer business into perspective, that sum is the most ever spent by a Premier League club in a single window, eclipsing the £434.5 million spent by Chelsea in the summer of 2023.
Expectations were high coming into the 2025-26 campaign, but Arne Slot’s side have failed to deliver of late. In fact, they fell to their eighth defeat in 11 games on Saturday, losing 3-0 at home to Nottingham Forest.
Amid their poor run, it has emerged that Liverpool are ‘fond’ of Bayern Munich forward Michael Olise.

Since joining from Crystal Palace last year, Olise has been a revelation at Bayern, notching 29 goals and 33 assists in 73 games across all competitions.
At this moment in time, Liverpool are not planning an offer for Olise, according to Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg, who claims they view the player as a ‘future dream target’ as they are currently concentrating their efforts on Antoine Semenyo.
Olise, meanwhile, is not a concrete target for the Reds as he does not have a release clause in his contract at Bayern, while both the club and the player are not open to the thought of him leaving.
A report from Football Insider in September suggested Olise has been given a price tag of £100 million by the Bundesliga club.

Michael Olise is ‘one of the best players in the world right now’
The 23-year-old France international can achieve anything in the game, according to Bayern teammate Serge Gnabry, who showered praise on the winger back in October.
“He has enormous potential and is one of the best players in the world right now. I don’t know where his limit is,” said Gnabry.
“Michael can achieve anything. He can play centrally, keep the ball, and is a good one-on-one player.
“I didn’t know him that well and didn’t expect it to be like this. Maybe it doesn’t seem that way sometimes, given the way he presents himself, but he has a very good mindset.”
Gnabry added: “Michael works hard, he’s a very good boy, very determined. That’s why I think he still has a lot of potential.”
