Arne Slot’s interview with CBS Sports after the Real Madrid win quickly turned into a roast — with Jamie Carragher becoming a sudden victim.
The chat was innocent enough until ex-Man City man Micah Richards asked Slot to confirm Dominik Szoboszlai’s words that the Liverpool players had no problems with Carragher after his latest comments in the media.
“As a player or as a pundit?’ was Slot’s rapid-fire response, triggering a burst of laughter in the studio.
Later, Carragher tried to turn the tables on Richards, suggesting that the studio would’ve looked better with three Champions League winners, with Gareth Bale and Thierry Henry already there.
Richard delivered an effective answer: “Before you answer that, Jamie works every year for another broadcaster and has not won the Premier League! So maybe he shouldn’t do that.”
Slot’s final barb was devastating, though: “Did you speak to one of our players, because this is what all our players tell about Jamie as well.”
To Carragher’s credit, he shared that interview on his social media, admitting he was ‘put in his place’.
