“Choosing Real Madrid over Liverpool? Real Madrid has always been a dream,” Dean Huijsen said in his press conference.
“For me, and for everyone, it’s the best club in the world. I felt that I fit in well in Xabi’s plans, and so I’m happy to be here,” Huijsen adds.

The defender went on to preview the Champions League game between Real Madrid and Liverpool at Anfield.
“We’re really motivated for tomorrow. We plan to perform as well as we can and get the 3 points,” Huijsen said.
“Mentally, I’m in great shape, I’m very happy, it’s my dream to be here and I hope to bring a lot of joy to the Madrid fans.
“My role in build-up? I think I’m good at it, and I try to help the team as much as I can. Obviously, Xabi asks me to do it and to help the team with other things as well.”
“My progression? In Italy I went to learn how to defend well, and I learned a lot. I’m very grateful to Juventus and Roma. It was their decision to let me go, but I’m very grateful. And I had a great time there.”
On his partnership with Militao, Huijsen added that, “Militao is such a complete CB, and off the pitch, he’s a really great guy as well. I think we make a good duo.
Huijsen is expected to start for Real Madrid against Liverpool.
