UEFA have confirmed that Romanian referee Istavan Kovacs will be the official to oversee the upcoming Champions League match between Liverpool and Real Madrid.
He will be officiating this match after also being the referee for Real Madrid’s 5-2 win at Anfield in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash in the 2022/23 season.
Moreover, German official Bastian Dankert will be the VAR official for this high-profile match.
Kovacs has refereed four Real Madrid matches in the Champions League, out of which three have been won by Los Blancos.
He has refereed two Liverpool matches, which have resulted in two losses for the Premier League giants.
