With Liverpool currently focusing on outgoings, one of the departures that is now being considered a formality is that of Darwin Nunez to Al Hilal. Set to swap the Premier League for the Saudi Pro League, a report from Alex Crook of talkSPORT has revealed the wage that Nunez can expect to receive in the Middle East, and it would put him on par with Liverpool’s highest-earner, Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool’s transfer window has been nothing short of remarkable. Executing the signings of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, among full-back reinforcements and signings elsewhere, the Merseyside Reds have proven they can also sell ludicrously well, too.
Having already lost the likes of Luis Diaz, Tyler Morton, and Jarell Quansah, which they received handsome fees for, the Premier League champions now look set to part ways with Nunez for a reported fee of £46 million.
Having turned down £70 million in January from Al Hilal, a bid of just below £50 million has convinced Arne Slot’s team to sell. A significant loss on the reported £64 million he cost them, the Uruguayan forward won’t be too worried when he sees the pay package that awaits him in the Saudi Pro League.

Currently on a weekly salary of £140k, as per GiveMeSport’s Liverpool wage guide, a report from Alex Crook has revealed Nunez can expect to join Al Hilal and earn the same money as Liverpool’s star man Mohammad Salah, who is also Liverpool’s highest-earner.
With the deal all but complete, barring any issues with his medical, Nunez will be playing his football in Saudi Arabia next season, and although some laws in the Middle East might make life tricky, his reported wage will help ease things. Set to earn roughly £400,000 per week, Nunez is expected to arrive at Liverpool’s training ground on Thursday, 7 August, to say his goodbyes before jetting off for a new start. A figure that is more than double his current wage on Merseyside, it will still see him earn less than what Al-Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo earns in a day.
