Liverpool have enjoyed a fruitful summer, welcoming the likes of Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz to an already-stacked Premier League-winning squad – and their fans believe that the two aforementioned stars’ kit numbers have been leaked.
Arne Slot, after taking over from the much-beloved Jurgen Klopp, became the fifth manager in Premier League history to win the title in his maiden season. But the Dutchman, alongside Sporting Director Richard Hughes, were keen to bolster their squad.
The Reds have endured a spending spree this summer – most notably, their club-record coup of Wirtz, who has continued to impress in his first few displays as a Liverpool player. And the German’s shirt number, alongside his teammate Frimpong’s, have now been leaked.

With every signing over the summer, fans are high in anticipation over a) how they are going to perform when the domestic season returns and b) what number they will don so that they can rush out to the nearest store and get their club’s latest shirt.
And now, the members of the Anfield faithful believe they know what numbers that both Wirtz, 22, and Frimpong, 24, will be wearing from next season and beyond. The Premier League website, which states every single shirt number for all 20 squads in the English top flight, have leaked the information.
Pulheim-born Wirtz – widely regarded as one of the best number 10s in world football – will don the No.27 shirt, according to the Premier League’s official website. Darwin Nunez and Divock Origi have both worn that number for Liverpool, but it’s currently available.
According to Transfermarkt, only a total of seven players have worn No.27 for the Merseysiders. It was the first number he adopted when he moved into Bayer Leverkusen’s senior side – he later took over the No.10 shirt, which is Alexis Mac Allister’s.
GIVEMESPORT’s Ben Jacobs previously reported that, after Frimpong completed his Liverpool medical, he would be wearing the No.30 shirt – and the latest revelation, per the Premier League’s website, has just put the final nail in the coffin.
Frimpong, born and bred in Amsterdam, also moved from Bayer Leverkusen this summer – and he’s expected to act as a deputy for Mohamed Salah on the right wing, while also being an option at right-back, especially after Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure.
He made the No.30 shirt his own while plying his trade for Scottish Premiership outfit Celtic – and that trend continued when he made the switch to the German side in January 2021. He’ll become the first player in a decade to don No.30 for the reigning Premier League champions.
