Alexander Isak is demanding £300,000-a-week to sign a new contract with Newcastle United amid interest from Liverpool and Al-Hilal, according to talkSPORT.
The Magpies are looking to strengthen their squad this summer after qualifying for the Champions League for the 2025/26 season, but have so far only been able to add Sweden international Anthony Elanga to their forward line in a £55m deal from Nottingham Forest.
The club have missed out on several of their top targets so far in this transfer window, but their biggest task at this point has been seeing off interest from Premier League champions Liverpool in their star striker.

who has been described as ‘the best striker in the world’, has been a major target for several of Europe’s top clubs after a sensational campaign at St James’ Park.
The Reds have made an approach to sign Isak recently, telling the Magpies that they would be ready to break their transfer record for a second time in the same window following the arrival of Florian Wirtz earlier this summer. But Newcastle have zero interest in selling Isak, and instead want to tie him down to a new contract.
The 25-year-old is still under contract until 2028 but Newcastle want to tie him down for the long-term, and it has now emerged that the striker is demanding £300,000-a-week to extend his deal on Tyneside

Newcastle, however, are reticent to match those demands as it would smash the wage structure currently in the club, but also don’t want to be forced into a sale later down the line.
Isak has reportedly given the green-light to an exit to Liverpool, while his agents have also held talks with PIF owned Saudi club Al-Hilal and he is open to making the switch to the Middle East. Arsenal have also shown an interest, but their attention is currently on sealing a deal for Viktor Gyokeres instead.
